Welcome to Mill Hill School, a school that seeks to equip pupils for life, both now and in the future. We want them to take advantage of all available opportunities so that they can make the most out of life. Our stimulating academic environment and numerous activities outside the classroom encourage learning and personal growth. We are committed to the development of every pupil and believe that our friendly and supportive community helps this to happen.
There are seven Day Houses and four Boarding Houses in the school and the Housemasters/mistresses and House Parents, together with their teams of Tutors, aim to provide an environment that is both caring and supportive. The welfare of each pupil is supported throughout their school career by a Housemaster or Housemistress and tutor team who get to know them well and liaise closely with their families.
We host regular lectures by external experts, for our young people and their parents alike, on a variety of topics affecting teenage life. Professional medical and counselling services are also on hand. In addition to the House system, pupils’ involvement is encouraged through the various School Councils. These Councils promote engagement across all year groups and meet regularly to discuss a wide variety of issues including catering, anti-bullying and mentoring and environmental issues.

8th May 2021
We offer a forward looking curriculum which establishes strengths in the core subjects but is also broad and flexible enough to adapt to the demands of the 21st century. We are as focused on emerging, innovative and creative subjects as we are on classic academic disciplines. Our pupils find fulfilment and success in a broad range of learning pathways: we are equally as proud of those who leave us to study Art, Design or Programming, as of those who enter centuries-old universities to read History or Natural Sciences.
At its core are key personal characteristics which have been identified by a combination of the top 150 world employers and the leading European universities. The characteristics of leadership, team work, curiosity, resilience, confidence, creativity and powers of independent thinking now provide the backbone of our co-curricular offer. With over 400 clubs and activities offered in the last academic year, we are confident that all pupils will be able to thrive and excel outside the classroom, whilst gaining the much converted soft skills that employers and universities hold in such high regard.
Mill Hill is a fantastic and unique place, with spacious countryside surroundings in a wonderful 150-acre campus, yet easily accessible from Central London. It really does offer the best of both worlds. The strong sense of community in our Boarding Community is tangible and boarders have a real sense of ‘home-away-from-home’ while they are living and working together with us.
